Painting for August featured show at Ashland Art Works on Oak Street – Faces of Nepal

Offering at Boudanath stupa, 2004

Offering at Boudhanath Stupa, Nepal, 2004

Feel compelled to paint Faces of Nepal after devastating earthquake in April 2015. Visited India, Nepal and Sikkim on a Buddhist pilgrimage in 2004. While painting these portraits can’t help but wonder about those in my paintings… are they still alive? Sending wishes to Nepal… may you be safe, may you be happy. Karuna Sechen would be my recommendation for donation to earthquake in Nepal and surrounding areas if you are so inclined. More than 8500 people have lost their lives. Matthieu Ricard, Tibetan Buddhist monk from France is the organizer. This is site of “Nepali girl” photo used in painting for Faces of Nepal.
